I’ve heard that some Mac owners are having issues installing the Omnisphere updates.

I don’t have an Apple Mac so I can only tell you what happens with a PC.

For the SoundSource update and the Presets updates, the zip downalods extract to 3 folders;

Mac, PC and STEAM.

The PC folder contains a program which just copies the STEAM folder for you .

SO if you can not run the updater programs for some reason, simply extarct the zip to a SPARE place first.

Then copy the update STEAM folder over to your exisitng STEAM folder. Everything should line up and folders and files updated or created as necessary. Some files will be overwritten during the update. This is normal.

If you don’t know where your STEAM folder is, use a file search to search for it (ie SHERLOCK on the Mac.). You chose this location for STEAM when you installed the SPectrasonic DVDs originally. AFAIR the default location is right next to the plug-in. But I put my library on my external SATA sound library drive, away from my operating system files (which are backed up weekly, aka I don’t need to back up 50GB of Omnisphere library every week).

To copy the files, you can just get the source an destination windows open simultaneously and DRAG the files from source to destination to copy.

Unfortunately I can’t comment on the Engine update, as the Mac version contains a Package file. I think these are SEA (Self Extracting Archives) programs, so if you double click they should run. Not sure where they go to, but hopefully it tells you, or knows itself (ie on WIndows it uses the Registry to know where you installed to).

If you are an Apple Mac owner and have run the Engine update, please LMK what happens!
